New York Brownstones have long since been one of my favourite styles of home - their beautiful lofty proportions, solidity and many levels appeal and shout "very cool family home" to me.
Actress Keri Russell's family home in Brooklyn was featured by Elle Decor and even though it was a while ago now, I just had to share. Nothing outrageous on the design stakes - just a beautifully put-together home with originality, elegance and warmth and very lovely blend of a hand-made feel, divine tailored upholstery, a relatively neutral palette with a tiny splash of glamour.
No more of my drivel - see for yourselves....

Long time fans of the fabulous range from rug "celebrities" Armadillo&Co, we are literally bursting to share with you the latest collection from our "go to" favourite for anything rug.
The Marle collection has just been released as part of the Armadillo&Co Bespoke collection, which means the rugs can be customised to suit any colour scheme or size. It revolves around 3 bold designs - Fold, Tuck and Pleat - using colour blocking. Beautiful Argentinian wool in the usual stunning Armadillo&Co colours creates the marled look by combining each colour with a natural yarn - the result is soft, tonal heaven!
So here are the three designs:

A very exciting project we are working on for a very lovely BedNest couple has had us researching bathrooms recently and more specifically marble in bathrooms. Not a bad way to spend time hey?!
Black tapware has been around for a little while now but is certainly growing in popularity and is widely available. We've loved it from the outset but have yet to actually use it in a project as I feel it takes a certain style of bathroom to really set it off.
Black tapware + marble + contemporary style - oh yes, this is the project! Here are some inspiration shots to show you what we're thinking......
I know, I know - these are clearly subway tiles and there isn't much marble but the feel is divine and can you imagine this with some plain white tiles and marble too? -
This time I just need you to imagine a marble splashback replacing the

We have long been big fans of the writing, work, styling and ideas of Claudia, Blogger and Stylist behind Peep My Style.
Back in November 2014 Claudia worked with us on a photo shoot and created this AMAZING shot of our Maddison bedhead - one of my all time favourite shots -
Last spring, Claudia approached us to make a number of beds and bedheads for her new Interior Decorating project in Bondi and we were delighted to help. The end result has been featured in the latest edition of our favourite online mag - Adore. The photos below speak for themselves and show off Claudia's amazing talent beautifully.

I wrote a couple of weeks ago about the fabulous Ham Yard Hotel - a favourite on our recent trip to London. Today is the turn of the smaller, may I say cooler and also very amazing High Road House in Chiswick in West London.
We had a delicious Saturday brunch here and loved it so much that we have vowed that next time we are DEFINITELY booking a room - the kids can stay at Grandad's.
High Road House is part of the Soho House group and is part members club/part hotel and while it has been open for a while, it has recently been given an overhaul by

I’ve been intrigued by these light fixtures with their insect-like arms for oh, well, forever really. I’m sure you recognize them. They pop up all of the time in stylish interiors - and with good reason! Captivating, sculptural (and so utterly divine in their under-stated beauty...) they are the timeless work of 50s design icon Serge Mouille.
I love the fact that Mouille never succumbed to mass production (despite the huge demand for his work). He made all of his lamps by hand which probably accounts for their rather organic-like and expressive feel. With their tentacle like “spider” arms, they look more like pieces of art than a light source….and they probably look just as good now as they did when they were first launched – absolutely timeless don’t you think?

Over the Christmas break I was lucky enough to head back to London, my home town, for my first wintery Christmas in 14 years. It was a first for the mini-BedNests and very special to be with all of our extended family over the holidays. To my huge relief the magic of a northern hemisphere Christmas was not lost on them - quite the opposite! Hardly any mention of being cold and lots of awe struck little faces and happy smiles at Christmas lights, carol concerts, ice-skating, candles and general Christmasyness.
As well as hanging out with family and friends, we took some time to visit some old favourite spots and try out some new ones in London. Lunch 2 days before Christmas with Mr BedNest (sans kids) at the fabulous new Ham Yard Hotel in Soho was a total stand-out on the happiness (and interiors-perving) scale.
