I wrote a couple of weeks ago about the fabulous Ham Yard Hotel - a favourite on our recent trip to London. Today is the turn of the smaller, may I say cooler and also very amazing High Road House in Chiswick in West London.

We had a delicious Saturday brunch here and loved it so much that we have vowed that next time we are DEFINITELY booking a room - the kids can stay at Grandad's. 

High Road House is part of the Soho House group and is part members club/part hotel and while it has been open for a while, it has recently been given an overhaul by Alexander Waterworth Interiors. Think London art scene meets mid-century cool with a slightly industrial and moody vibe. It just works and I loved it.

The Club bar where we ate is a beautiful space - amazing high ceilings, lots of textures and mixed finishes all around quite a monochrome palette. See that brass wall shelving behind the bar? Stunning hey?

The bedrooms continue with the mid-century feel. Lots of the furniture was sourced from London 20th century specialists and it all feels unique and special and individual, kind of like you're staying at a very grand friend's place I guess - nothing mass or commercial here. 

The shaker pegs around the wall are a perfect touch and the toiletries are from Cowshed - divine! 


Some of the rooms have roll-top baths in the bedroom, one of my all time dreams for a grown up haven of my own (one day.....)


I love that there are some rooms that are called "Tiny" which are pint sized and budge friendly - what more could you need than the picture below for a gorgeous night's sleep?


Chiswick is one of my favourite areas of London - close to all the action in the centre of town but a really strong local community and beautiful, beautiful leafy London streets to wander. 

Oh - and it's super handy for Heathrow too!
