I’m having a bit of a copper obsession at the moment.  Copper is the new black, it’s having its moment and it’s popping up everywhere – lighting, furnishings, kitchens, bathrooms ( I’ve even noticed a copper Kitchen Aid which now makes my red one look rather boring…).

Copper is a brilliant material to introduce to your interiors. It blends perfectly with pretty much any style (vintage, classic, contemporary, industrial) and it has a warmth and texture that just can’t be matched by other metals. I think where we are seeing copper best is in lighting – there’s something just so gorgeous and timeless about it.

Tom Dixon’s Copper Shade is truly a work of art (I want one for my hallway!).  It looks amazing both on its own or in groups for a bigger impact -

The iconic Oluce Atollo table lamp has a sculptural quality and looks luminous against the dark background -

This industrial style pendant is definitely the star of the bedroom -

I’m seeing a lot of copper piping used in interiors.  Here pipes double as a storage rack (from VT Wonen) –

Or how about this copper pipe reading light for a touch of industrial chic (if you are game you could make one yourself!) -

I thought this coffee table looked pretty cool, especially against all the grey -

If you really wanted to make an impact with copper you could do a whole wall.  Love it or hate it, you got to admit it’s pretty striking -

There are so many ways to introduce the drama and glamour of copper into your interior life.  You can go all big and dramatic or small with just a few accent pieces (there are loads of copper home accessories out there).

Either way, copper is definitely having its moment….go and enjoy it!
