I suspect that my thumb is beginning to turn a little green….judging by the amount of indoor plants that are starting to populate my house. From what’s buzzing around the web lately, like them or loathe them, there is no denying that indoor plants are back – and thriving.
I’ll admit, not so long ago the thought of an “indoor plant” brought flashbacks of the 70s and 80s (having suffered a serious overdose of maidenhair fern). Now I LOVE how house plants make me feel. They can breathe new life into a room adding touches of green and texture, but mostly they can really personalise a space (and you know how much we like to make a space feel our own). Oh, and if you’re wondering, I’ve fallen back in love with the maidenhair fern (in fact, I’ve got a rather magnificent one growing in my dining room). To help you on your way into the

A new year brings new trends and judging by what the team at BedNest HQ are reading on the web and in magazines, the colour spectrum for 2014 will be heavily dominated by turquoise. This has certainly got us all a little excited….
What’s not to love about turquoise? It’s wonderfully versatile – it has both warm and cold undertones which means that that it pretty much works with any colour (yes, even yellows and oranges). When teamed with white, it can bring to a room a calm beach vibe (think Mediterranean) or it can be incredibly glamorous – especially (and this is when I really do get excited) in bolder hues set against metallic and/or black (or, if you are feeling brave, animal print).

I have always loved our Otto. Right back when we very first launched I knew this design would be a winner as there is surely no more versatile piece of furniture in existence?!
Part-time blanket box, toy box, shoe box, coffee table, window-seat and ottoman - Otto can be made in any size to match customer's needs and in any fabric to fit with any decor style. How could it not be a winner?!
Well, about two hundred orders later, Otto is DEFINITELY a huge success and enduringly popular with all BedNesters. Families with little people love the gas lift arm (no slammed fingers) and the fact that toy storage can be attractive! BedNesters who are a little tight on storage space are using it as a blanket box at the foot of the bed (we just made one nearly 2m long!). There have been several made for hallways - to be used

We've been on the hunt for a new dining table for a while and for the first time are considering a bold (!) move to a round table. Now this change may not seem that earth-shattering or revolutionary to most, but it will totally change the look of our open-plan living-dining space and so for me (Mrs BedNest is not the most adventurous of souls) it is indeed a brave decision!
Here's my thinking...
1. Feel - a round table definitely creates a more casual feel. There's no "head of the table" and it's very conducive to conversation and chat. I would go as far as to say it can create a more intimate dining experience but with 3 small children that's not really something very high on the list.....
2. Look - in a room that is full of angles and straight lines a gorgeous curved table will be a total surprise and contrast and I do LOVE a surprise in any interior. Every room should have something a little unexpected...
3. Space - if you choose the right base and size you

Dusty, slightly greeny yellows are everywhere right now and we are LOVING how a shot of chartreuse can add a real wow factor to any room - especially a BedNest.
See how it livens up gorgeous dark, cozy bedrooms with a delicious, smokey pop of colour. All you need is a throw, blanket, cushion or even a painted side table or upholstered ottoman if you're

As you can probably tell from the BedNest photography, our logo and so many of the images I end up using and being drawn to, I'm a blues kind of girl. Anything from gorgeous, inky navy through to soft powdery sky blues tick my boxes - with a particular fondness for rich, tealy aquas and Delft or Wedgewood mid-blues.
But the one blue that ALWAYS makes me smile and brings something soft, uplifting and refreshing to a space? Duck egg blue....
Have a look...
