Oh I do love a floral and to me there’s no better way to get that spring feeling into your home than a gorgeous floral print.  Florals have been around for ages (forever really..) but what’s got me excited in a "jump up and down" kind of way is the fresh modern take on this iconic print.

Less nanna-like garden variety type, but bolder, flirty even with a much younger vibe.  Oversized florals that pack a punch in saturated blues and pinks to painterly patterns in watercolour as well as stylized vintage and botanical prints.  Wallpaper, rugs, soft furnishings, chairs (and bedheads of course!), mix and layer them with geometrics, ikats, stripes and spots – the “rules” are gone - these new florals look great in any space.  And best of all? You won't need a green thumb for these gorgeous blooms...

Oversized pendant lights teamed with an oversized print - now these really do pack a punch!  Pendant lights covered in pink Baronessa by Lisa Bengtsson –

This pretty floral looks great against the white surfaces and lighting.  Gorgeous - not granny!

The divine Rubelli ‘Malvasia’ velvet with its large scale watercolour floral works perfectly alongside the iconic Oluce Atollo table lamp and tribal print rug -

All these large scale floral patterns should clash (and they probably do!) but each has a “voice” and they work together against the neutral background -

Florals can be moody too like the Dark Floral wallpaper by Ellie Cashman.  I love its painting like quality and sense of drama (there's also a new "sequel" Light Fresco which is equally beautiful) -

A bold large-scale floral rug  by Megan Park  for The Rug Company, the Persian Rose Garden–

Bluebellgray is a lovely Scottish textile label that do painterly patterns exceptionally well.  All their designs are carefully hand-painted before being digitally printed onto fabric.  You really can see every brushstroke in their designs.  Love the mix of floral with the strip of ikat on the curtains and those gorgeous blue walls (Pitch Blue by Farrow and Ball in case you were wondering....) –

For a touch of spring in my own home, I’m having cushions made (by BedNest of course!) in this very beautiful Pilsbury Ash linen by Warwick fabrics which I’m most excited about and of course had to share -

And lastly, we are over the moon “and stars and back again” (as Nicky’s six year old would say…) with this stunning Florence bed we’ve just delivered for a customer (who is equally over the moon “and stars and back again”).  It has been upholstered in gorgeous Alexia Pomegranate with buttons and piping in Tilda Pistachio (fabrics from Warwick).  Divine isn’t it?
