It’s time to say goodbye to summer and hello to autumn...it’s going to get cold soon!  I’m not too sad summer is over though as I love a change of season (a change is as good as a holiday they say…) and besides, dressing up for the cooler months is so much more fun.  Not just me but my home too - especially the bedroom…

With autumn officially here I now have the perfect excuse to roll out the rugs and throws and build my all important bedroom ‘nest’.  It’s all about the layers – chunky knits, crumpled linens and tactile weaves.  And don’t forget to keep your feet toasty warm with a thick woollen rug!

This season we are seeing a lot more chunky knit textures in the bedroom.  The bed below is gorgeous and I just bet it feels like climbing into a big oversized jumper.  Can’t get much cosier than that!

I like this pop of fuchsia against the textured bedding - it couldn’t help but lift your mood on a dreary winter’s day -

A gorgeous winter bed with tea and hot water bottle to boot…lovely!

The fairy lights give this room by Swedish photographer Daniella Witte warmth and a magical feel with just that touch of whimsy -

This room has a beautiful cosy Scandinavian feel – couldn’t you just nestle under those covers forever (I love the sheep face pillow too - cute!) -

The black and amber bedding add warmth and sophistication to an otherwise stark white background -

But who says a white on white bedroom can’t be cosy?!

Adding some warmth and luxury to your ‘nest’ makes going to bed a real treat, especially as it gets colder and the days shorter.  Now you’ve got the excuse to get started!

Until next week….
