We were drawn to the beautiful home of Kate and Price Gallie by an image we featured in our recent post, "Enchanted by Green". The image, from a wonderful Queensland Homes pictorial, captured the essence of summer living; blending vibrant tropical fabrics and plant life with the more neutral tones found in the soft furnishings, artwork and decor.

I really love the simplicity and modern layout of this couples impressive renovation. For me it's the quality finishes and uncomplicated architectural design combined with the interior decorating and styling talents of the home owner that makes this work so well (Kate also owns Cove Interiors).

The home has a colonial feel that's carried throughout the pavilion style living areas and definitely nails the "Cape Cod meets Noosa" brief that was given to Bayden Goddard of BGD Architects....but I'll let you be the judge of that.

Back entrance

The Hampton's style architectural influence is mixed with a beach side feel to create easy living with exceptional style.

View over pool to living, dining and kitchen areas

Living areas flow effortlessly out around the pool and into the main dining and kitchen.

Kitchen

An abundance of natural light and colour complements the beautiful white island bench and kitchen joinery.

High ceilings and natural light

High ceilings and plenty of ventilation help create an elegant and relaxed feel. Coastal influences are seeded throughout along with a deliberately subtle colour palette of dreamy powder blues and sea greens.

Backyard veggie patch

The coastal/ earthy quality of this home extends to a very healthy veggie patch in the neatly landscaped back yard....what a gem this place is !!
