Blankets & Throws
It’s starting to feel a little chilly (it is June afterall…) which has me reaching for my blankets and throws to add some cosy loveliness to my home.
I do love a layered look in winter. Soft blankets and throws adding colour and texture and delightful warmth. It’s that nesting instinct settling in – escaping the world and curling up under a blanket with a great book or mag is pure bliss. If you are on the lookout for something new, there are loads of gorgeous blankets and throws out this season. From bold and colourful geometrics (which couldn’t help but brighten up the dreariest of winter days) to oh-so-warm chunky knits in divine charcoals and greys. Shop sales have just begun too which makes the perfect excuse to pick up something fab! Here are some of our top picks:
Jacqueline Fink crafts exquisite blankets and throws in the most fabulous chunky knits for her label Little Dandelion (pictured is their Bed Runner) -
Kate & Kate blankets and throws boast fresh and contemporary designs and are all knitted from soft breathable cotton (free from nasty substances too!). Throws are oversized and generous –
They make great baby blankets too –
We love Sheridan’s chunky knit Aetos Throw hand knitted in 100% unspun wool (seen here with matching cushion featuring pom-pom closures) –
Melbourne brand uimi create bold knitwear (both to be wear and for the home). Pictured are their gorgeous baby blankets in 100% merino wool -
“Inspired by nature and created with love”, Luna Home create contemporary knitted homewares in natural yarns. Below is the pique throw and blanket in Granite Fluff Kanga Oyster (100% cotton) -
Anders knit throw by Citta Design with bright and bold diamond pattern (comes in muted indigo, musk and apricot tones), 100% cotton -
For some Scandi design, try Pia Wallen’s cross blanket in 100% organic cotton (Australian stockists include Alphabet Monkey) –
This is probably one of my favourites - Lucky Boy Sunday (by Danish design duo Camilla and Camilla) has the most beautiful creations. Pictured is their bobby blanket knitted in fine baby alpaca with non toxic dyes -
Their kids knitted toys and pillows are pretty irresistible too (Australian stockists include Little Pie Street) -
For a bit of fun try the Blah Blah throw by Scottish designer Donna Wilson (do check out her Rainy Day blanket too) in 100% lambswool, soft and reversible (stockists include Safari Living) –
The Chevron Throw (Aura by Tracie Ellis) would make a bold and chunky addition to any bedroom. Pictured here in Charcoal (also comes in Rust, Emerald and Bright Yellow) -
Got you in nesting mode yet? Feeling warm and cosy? Bet we have!
Until next week....
