It's All About Us

  1. Creative Collaboration

    Creative Collaboration

One of the most enjoyable things about what we do here at BedNest is working with such an amazing range of people.

From private clients simply refreshing a bedroom, to Interior Designers looking to re-imagine an entire home and Architects who have an ability to transform a fleeting thought into a physical reality. Being part of the collaboration process is something that’s very special.

The proof is in the pudding

Our two latest additions have come from two very different collaborative approaches.

The ‘Saratoga’ is the result of working with Briar Stanley, a Sydney based Interior Decorator and creator of the lifestyle blog, Sunday Collector. Briar has had a very impressive career, having worked previously in the film industry as a props buyer and set dresser. She's worked on films such as The ‘Great Gatsby’, ‘Australia’

  2. Belle Magazine feature - 'Undercover Culture'

Belle Magazine feature - 'Undercover Culture'

What do you get when you cross a talented Interior Design Editor, with quality upholstered bedroom furniture and fabric from a number of market-leading fabric houses? The answer - a very stylish five-page editorial feature in Belle Magazine!

To say we were thrilled to have been featured in Belle Magazine is a slight understatement. If you haven't already, make sure you pick up the February/March 2017 issue.

Here's what you'll be looking at

Production and styling for the feature 'Undercover Culture' was put together by Interiors Editor Lucy McCabe and photographed by Will Horner. Lucy chose 3 bedheads from our standard range and requested we customise 2 bedheads to achieve a specific look for the shoot. Her choice of fabric, along with modern geometric shapes and dramatic lighting created a distinct high end style and mood. "These bedtime stories tell of deeply restful sleeping spaces rich in pattern and colour", so states the magazine.

  3. BedNest Photo Shoot - Summer 2016 and 2017

BedNest Photo Shoot - Summer 2016 and 2017

Our latest photoshoot ran over three crazy days - it had us rushing from pillar to post, but the end results were simply stunning. We couldn't be happier!

Over the last few years, we've had the pleasure of working with professional photographer Chris Warnes - his photographic prowess never fails to deliver anything but truly beautiful results. In fact, Chris' work is regularly featured in some of Australia's leading home magazines and we're sure you'll agree, he certainly knows his way around a BedNest bedhead.

  4. Peep My style & Adore

We have long been big fans of the writing, work, styling and ideas of Claudia, Blogger and Stylist behind Peep My Style.

Back in November 2014 Claudia worked with us on a photo shoot and created this AMAZING shot of our Maddison bedhead - one of my all time favourite shots -

Last spring, Claudia approached us to make a number of beds and bedheads for her new Interior Decorating project in Bondi and we were delighted to help. The end result has been featured in the latest edition of our favourite online mag - Adore. The photos below speak for themselves and show off Claudia's amazing talent beautifully.

  5. London calling....2nd edition

I wrote a couple of weeks ago about the fabulous Ham Yard Hotel - a favourite on our recent trip to London. Today is the turn of the smaller, may I say cooler and also very amazing High Road House in Chiswick in West London.

We had a delicious Saturday brunch here and loved it so much that we have vowed that next time we are DEFINITELY booking a room - the kids can stay at Grandad's.

High Road House is part of the Soho House group and is part members club/part hotel and while it has been open for a while, it has recently been given an overhaul by

  6. London calling.... 1st edition

Over the Christmas break I was lucky enough to head back to London, my home town, for my first wintery Christmas in 14 years. It was a first for the mini-BedNests and very special to be with all of our extended family over the holidays. To my huge relief the magic of a northern hemisphere Christmas was not lost on them - quite the opposite! Hardly any mention of being cold and lots of awe struck little faces and happy smiles at Christmas lights, carol concerts, ice-skating, candles and general Christmasyness.

As well as hanging out with family and friends, we took some time to visit some old favourite spots and try out some new ones in London. Lunch 2 days before Christmas with Mr BedNest (sans kids) at the fabulous new Ham Yard Hotel in Soho was a total stand-out on the happiness (and interiors-perving) scale.

  7. Heavenly Sleep

There are days when the phrase "I love my job" is 100% genuinely something you want to shout from the rooftops. Last Monday was one. It was the day that the latest issue of Home Beautiful magazine came out. The wonderful team at Home Beautiful asked us a few months ago to make 2 bedheads for their Heavenly Sleep article about gorgeous bedrooms and we finally got to see them in all of their dreamy, styled glory.

    Wow!

We thought the bedheads came up beautifully but to see them in print was amazing. The HB team have created a beautiful story with gorgeous colours, textures and finishes that feel luxurious and utterly dreamy. The photography by BedNest favourite Chris Warnes has a crisp but inviting light and serenity. There's a clever and interesting range of  products - bedsides, fabrics, accessories, linen, rugs, lighting and cushions and the location is stunning

  8. Farmstay heaven

Over the Easter/Anzac long weekends we took a 10 day break and had a proper old-fashioned family holiday. You know -  kids and dog into the car, long (ish) drive, zero visibility out of the car rear window, surfboard on the roof - a holiday where all you do is book a place to stay that's near (ish) a beautiful looking beach and let the rest unfold when you get there….

Let me tell you - it was heaven. The best holiday I think we've ever had as a family of 5. Here's why…

We found a gorgeous looking farmhouse in a gorgeous looking area of hinterland behind a gorgeous looking stretch of coast in the travel section of the SMH last year sometime. "Gorgeous" we decided and did the totally uncharacteristic thing for us of booking it straight away. We had no idea what we'd do when we got there or even what there was to do. We just knew that 10 days there looked like restful, beautiful paradise - GORGEOUS!

With such a build-up of gorgeousness (and a pretty

  9. Press

It's always very exciting when stylists & magazine folk contact us looking for a bedhead for a photoshoot, or to ask to feature something new in our range or to ask us to make a custom design for a project or issue they are working on.

We LOVE seeing these ideas "in print" (or online) and being amazed by the beautiful images the very talented creative wonders of mag world create with our products...and reading the journos "take" on our range.

Here are a few recent features...

  10. Interiors Addict

A couple of weeks ago we ran a competition on the fabulous blog Interiors Addict to win our gorgeous new Maddison bedhead below...

We were absolutely swamped in entries and Jen and I were delighted with how many truly inspiring bedroom images were sent into us.

    Here's the winning entry...

.....on first glance it's a gorgeous image but maybe not the most inspiring, but have a look at the detail and you'll see the real beauty...The
