See how bedheads really can transform a room?!....With the help of a little green, an amazing chandelier and stunning wallpaper!

Can't wait for a peak at Sibella Court's new book (out in October).
We just love her amazing, eclectic style and the fact that her fabulous store is just round the corner from BedNest HQ....
Nothing schmick, flashy and obvious about her work - it's incredible, inspirational, unusual stuff using vintage and new side by side in glorious spaces..... YUM!

It's a very sad, shamefaced and "tail between the legs" day when I realise that it is 3 months since my last post.
Shockingly awful and the reasons are too long and dull to bore you with. I know most of you are "in touch" through our Facebook daily update "Pillow Talk" anyway, but still...Suffice to say that, we are back, the updates will keep on coming now and so watch this space....
So, for today, just an apology.... and a selection of gorgeous images we've been gathering, swooning over and generally loving while I've been so quiet. Some bedrooms, some pots, a whole lot of lovely greys.
There has been plenty going on here at BedNest HQ - quiet we may have been on the blogging front but OH so busy we have been on the product development/making beautiful bedheads every day/newsletter/photoshoot/gathering inspiration front. More to follow..
Enjoy and see you SOON!

We're often asked where we get our inspiration for new designs, photoshoots, interiors projects etc. The answer is, of course, anywhere and everywhere but one definite source of ideas and utter joy (how we LOVE perusing the hotel websites) is the world of hotels. What greater spot to see incredible BedNests could there be? From the luxuriously over-the-top to pared back minimal or sublime eco-chic, there's a hotel to cover every look and it's amazing how many use upholstered bedheads to create innovative and gorgeous spaces for their guests.
Just thought we'd share a few favourites with you - purely for the "ahhhh, sigh" factor and maybe to give you a little inspiration....

There just does seem to be a real synergy between readers of Real Living and BedNest. The stunning shot of our Paddo bedhead in the current (April) edition has created so much interest among BedNesters and even brought a whole lot of new BedNesters to our "door".
The gorgeous styling shows how easy it is to create a luxe, boutique hotel look in any BedNest with some wow factor linen and an upholstered bedhead. Just what we've been saying for years!
Have a look at the article below and some other shots of the lovely Paddo (a steal at only $799 for a queen....)
Well now BedNesters, never let it be said that all we do here at HQ is create bedheads - we want to help make your whole BedNest perfect, a sanctuary, an escape and somewhere that just shouts RELAX! So today we're talking paint colours.
Dulux recently received details of the Top 10 favourite paint colours in Australia - a list that includes classic whites and neutrals to suit any BedNest. Number 1 and number 3 are absolute favourites of mine and have been used time and again in various projects. No 3 is the colour of my very own BedNest pictured below!

No 1 is Antique White USA - the ultimate ivory tone - not a warm cream or stark white but right in-between.
No 2 is Natural White - a truly versatile white that works indoors and out.
No 3 Hogs Bristle - the perfect subtle natural tone for when white isn't right but you still want an understated neutral. This is a truly uplifting tone, nothing drab or "beige" here, and is great for a bedroom. It works particularly well with Husk Driftwood (our best-selling fabric) as shown above on the Florence bedhead.
Could this be the update your BedNest needs?
The Über-stylish Claudia featured our Tribecca bedhead the other day in her fabulous blog "Peep my style".
Seems like she's not alone in loving this very feminine and elegant design - it was our best-seller over the long weekend.

Yesterday our gorgeous photographer Enzo sent me this pic from our shoot in December - featuring the gorgeous Nantucket bedhead and my (equally gorgeous we think) baby BedNest!

It just made me laugh and remember some of the fun we've had over the last couple of years doing shoots etc, so I had to share it with my lovely BedNesters today. A peak behind the scenes if you like..
It also shows how our upholstered bedheads are completely free-standing - something we get asked about a lot.
Oh and it shows the beautiful cross-stitch work on the Nantucket, see the pic below for a close-up.

So, this wasn't just an entirely self-indulgent blog post about the cuteness of baby BedNest after all!
Happy Australia Day for tomorrow!
Nicky
As you know, here at BedNest HQ we get our inspiration from anywhere and everywhere. Being a big movie lover (I had a weekly cinema habit before the baby BedNesters came along), I find the silver screen a fantastic source of ideas although some of the amazing houses, apartments and rooms have been known to raise a very ugly green-eyed monster in me!
The house from the movie Something's Gotta Give still makes me go dreamily swoony so many years after I first clapped eyes on its elegant, beachy, spacious splendour more than 5 years ago.
Here are a few pics to share the love...

The kitchen from heaven!

This room is where I lost my heart - beautiful, inviting, elegant and homely....that rug, that ottoman and oh that contrast piping on the sofas...ahhhhh

That dresser is so achingly perfect with its gorgeous display of white plates

If only they had a gorgeous upholstered bedhead it would the perfect bedroom! Imagine having enough space for a sofa and divine armchair and chaise....
Hope you enjoyed a little swoon too BedNesters!

Now once in a while we do like to share some of our BedNest secrets with you, we're not just about bedheads here, and the secret for today is pretty special.
Nest time you need a gift, any kind of gift, have a look at this gorgeous site www.oneforyouoneforme.com.au.
Not only is the range of fabulous gifts utterly fantastic but they also stock fashion and homewares so you can buy yourself a gift too! It's a beautifully designed website which has all those things that I think are so crucial when buying online...
